Call of Duty 4/5 Online Play

I am a noob to the gaming world (I only play sporatically), so I am also very much a noob to Call of Duty 4/5 online as well. The last video game I was really into was Goldeneye.

So I go online and I know that being as unskilled as I am basically I will be target practice for most of the other players. I am fine with that, I know to get better I need to play others that are better, that and just plain ole practice. My question is that the other players always seem to know where I am at, not to mention they are faster than me. Is there something I am missing? Do I just need to watch the radar better? Is boot camp of sorts?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

yeah watch radar close, and as you progress you earn perks that can unlock all kinds of extra skills.

dont stay in one spot....there are alot of people in those games and people are constantly moving...someone ALWAYS knows where you are b/c chances are someone sees you moving after you spawn...just keep moving, checking the radar and keep looking front, back and side to side...don't run out into the open...kinda stay close to a perimeter

Im a big COD 4 fan.... I think its one of the best shooting games ever made...

You reeeeaaaaly need to familiars yourself with all the maps. You get more deadlier weapons the more perks you unlock. COD 4 plays more realistic and less lag Dependant than other shooting games also. Don't be afraid to camp and camouflage is your best friend.. Dont rely on just one weapon for every map and what ever you do, dont run out guns blazing out in the open...

Radar only helps me find general direction or see if someone is sneaking up on me. The people that are so quick have played so many rounds that they probably anticipate what you are going to do. Also, if you run a lot in the game they can hear you.

Im a big shooter fan, but just cant seem to get the nack of the COD games. Im shooting guys in the back first, they turn around and kill me, yeah whatever. I watch the kill cams and I swear half the time the guy who killed me barely even shot me. If you get the drop on someone they should die first in that game. This game just gets me irritated, but I like it too
