I'm thinking about buying a GPS for the bike so I can do more solo riding this year. I've started doing a little research and it seems like the motorcycle-specific ones are on the expensive side.
Any sugestions?
Thanks,
Larry

I have a Garmin Vista HCx, which is a "outdoors" unit. Works well enough without BS.

i just got a garmin nuvi through work and i took it out on the bike today to play with. it's not moto-specific, but fit nicely in the clear map pocket on my tankbag.
i don't know much about GPS navigators, but i think this one is pretty basic. i mainly took it to see how far off my speedo was . . . when the bike says 105, the GPS says 95, which is about what i thought.

I think I need to do more research on features and not necessarily focus on if it is designed for a bike.

The main thing is dimension's and that it does what you want. Got mine on tigerdirect ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...GPS-Navigation ) .
I just bought the Garmin Nuvi 760. It has pretty much everything you could use. Bluetooth, FM transmitter, and expandable memory. I put a 4gig SD memory card in it for my music and it will hold about 1000 mp3's that are recorded at 128kbps. I need to buy a mount for my bike though. Then I can listen to my jams on my bike without having to drag along the IPod.

I think this is the site that worked for me. You can even type in what kind of bike you have and they will suggest a mount.
