Alright, while the above image isn't the entire road. It is, by far, the best portion. The meat of this road is freshly paved, has plenty of wonderful runoff, and above all, has an amazing view of most turn exits. Better yet, while in most turns, you can see the exits of one or more ahead of you!! Downsides are, it's short, and it's only a lane and a half wide. I'm not a fan of roads this narrow usually, because normally roads this narrow are full of blind corners. Skyview, or at least the portion most would be blasting, has little of these. Here's a rundown of the image above.

Everything before turn 1 is a fun uphill climb that's good to get a little warmed up on. It comes from Hwy 44 and has a small storage building at the bottom that has a handy little parking area too.

Turn 1 is a short, steep, and a somewhat blind uphill left hander.

The trip to turn 2 is short but sneaky. As the trip involves going over the slightest of rises right between the turns. This masks the turn entrance to 2, making it the most challenging turn on the road. First time riders of this road should take caution here, as it's the most likely spot to have a get-off. (BTW, my signature has an image of me going through turn 2)

As soon as you complete turn 2, you're transitioning into turn 3. Once you're used to it, this is a GREAT turn to practice getting a fast, solid drive out of corners. As you can start to accelerate early out of this turn due to it's increasing radius.

Once out of turn 3, you'll go up a slight rise on your way to 4a, which is little more than a slight bend that reminds you to start braking for 4b. Also, you'll note that once at the peak of that small rise around 4a, you can now clearly see turns 4b, 5, 6, and the entrance to 7!

4b is a fairly easy left hander that is slightly downhill. Watch your exit on this turn as it's vital on proper setup for turn 5.

Once you blast out of turn 5, it's a good time to start clicking it back a notch, as it's a short trip to turn 6.

Turn 6 is a quick left hander that should be taken with caution due to the fact that turn 7's exit is COMPLETELY BLIND! While traffic is rare at best, most traffic seen is pick-up trucks. So be sure to not be taking "racing lines" anymore once going into turn 6.

The rest is business as usual folks. Although, we're trying our best to keep "friendly" with the locals on this road. So if you decide to check it out, once you're past the "track" portion of the road, dial it way back if you don't mind. That, or turn around and blast back to Hwy 44. Also, while this road is great fun, it's not worth any long, special trips just to see it. We sometimes include it in at the end of rides, and it's great for photo shoots. So chances are, if you ride with us, you're bound to see it. Maybe even get some really trick shots of you riding it too

Nice write up. I went out on Skyview the other day and one thing that I noticed is you have to be aware of the center of the road were the pavement overlaps. I happen to cross the overlap mid turn and it upset the front end a bit.

This could have a little to do with setup also. As I don't ever recall having this sort of issue. But either way, I recon it's a good thing for folks to be aware of the first couple times they ride it.

I wasn't expecting it and then it happened. Caught me off guard. Just something to look for the first time you go out.

All the times I've been over Mitchell Hill Rd. from Fairdale to 44 or vice versa, I've never been on Skyview. I've always just taken 1526 (Knob Creek) to 44, and most of it is kinda boring, but it does have a couple of decent parts. How have I missed out on that one? I gotta get out more. Saddest part is, I've lived out here for over 30 years.

Dress for the crash, not the ride. (Assuming you still have a ride.)
Is it solipsistic in here, or is it just me?

I know what you mean. I've rode 44, Mitchell hill, Jefferson hill, and 1526 for the past year and never knew about this road.

When you go out and find it, you'll look at the entrance of the road, and the fact that you've always missed it will suddenly make since. As it don't really look like a road that would be a good idea for a motorcycle at first.

After I was told about it on the old board I went out to find it and rode past it a couple times because I wasn't thinking it would look like that.
