Just so there isn't any further confusion among the members, I figured it would be best to clarify the difference in these three things.
Spam: On this site, this would be any form of sales or the attempt to sale something from a business from which you are directly associated with. So no matter if you own that business, or just work there, this is still considered spam if posted on the open forums. PM's between honest, regular members is fine though. Just send a PM to a member though. No need to post in a thread that you are "sending a PM".
Sponsor: This would be any member that wants to promote their business on this site. Everyone is welcome here, even if they are directly associated with a business; though blatant or underhanded, promotion or advertising of one's source of income will not be tolerated without sponsoring the site.
Referrals: This comes into play when a regular member posts a "deal" they know of somewhere that they have absolutely no direct relation to. This is simply getting the word out so other members may cash in on a similar deal as you. All of which, is perfectly fine on this site.
Keep in mind that I fully realize there is a potential grey area between referral and spam. It's just to easy to exploit that grey area. So while I am sure we have not had anybody try and take advantage of this, we still have to draw a line somewhere to prevent this from happening.
So if you have any questions, please post up.
