    Motorcyclecloseouts.com SUCKS!! beware

It's a long story, but the short version is this.

My wife bought a suit on closeout. It was too large.

I called back to ask if she could return it for a suit 1 size smaller. They wouldn't take my exchange over the phone, I was told to put another order in online and that they would email her return instructions.

I asked THREE times if there would be a restocking fee, because this method seemed like trouble. Usually if it is a business with GOOD SERVICE they will ask for a credit card number, take the order over the phone and give you an RMA number for the old suit, then swap you in the mail.

They told me 3 times that no restocking fee would apply since we were just ordering a different size.

Got the new suit, sent the old one back. They charged $30 restocking fee.

Called them and they denied that they told us that. They said they always charge 10% restocking for "express returns". That if I wanted to avoid the 10% I would have had to mail the original suit back, wait 30 days for them to process it, get a store credit, then use the store credit to purchase.

It's crap customer service. The guy was rude, wouldn't even entertain the idea that I might be right, and basically just wouldn't budge. I guess I am just a moron and I totally imagined what I was told, that's his story and he's sticking to it.

Thats not what I was told. I called them back about the gloves I ordered b/c I got one size to big.....sent back to exchange for the right size. No restocking fee and it was only a 5 minute phone call TOPS to get an RA#

I would do what EWS said and call your CC company and file a complaint. B/c I didnt go through all that trouble over an exchange

    put down the shovel man!

Yeah, they do. Which is why I called them about the exchange because exchanges were supposed to be no problem, the sticking point was that you had to mail them back the gear, wait for them to process your return and issue a "store credit" before reordering so that you wouldn't have to pay a 10% restocking fee. This process could take 2 weeks or more. I called them due to having a time constraint and asked if I could just give them my card number and cross ship the items without paying the restocking fee, the dude said no problem at all. Then when they charged me I called back and the guy claimed I was lying about the previous conversation (which I had with him) was a total dick, and basically told me to fuck off.

    poor service....

I don't have any problem with a written clear return policy. I do have a problem when I call and make a decision based upon service that was offered, then get something totally different and rude service on the back end.

Word of mouth is the best or worst kind of advertising a company can get. Go back to their site, find their comment section tell them you are extremely disappointed about how you were treated etc and make sure you let them know that you are a member of several web forums and that you are going to splash your displeasure all over those forums...maybe even post a screen shot...

It's old stuff, water under the bridge. I've forgot about it. DD got the shovel out and I was just answering his question.
