Dairantou X [SSBB] ~ spoiler warning

Dairantou X [Super Smash Brothers Brawl] review:

I'm not claiming this to be in anyway accurate, it's what I picked up in the three hours I played. I'll play some more throughout the week and add.

After playing the game for about 3 hours last night, I decided that I would write a quick write up for you guys. The sad news is... they made it really noob friendly, I don't really see a future in tournament play. It's extremely pretty (I love the new look and sounds of EVERYTHING!). The game almost reminds me of the N64 version. Although it's really smooth and pretty, it's become pretty floaty. The old characters have mostly the same moves. The only difference I've noticed is Falco has his own move set. I've yet to figure out the button combination to get Shiek and Zero Suit Samus out at the beginning like SSBM. I'm also going to note that L cancelling is gone, float cancelling with peach is still out there. The game overall seems a little slower and more floaty.

    Character [spoiler warning]:

    Mario: seems about the same

Donkey Kong: yet to play with

Link: changed up his boomerang and his up B on the ground can now be charged

Samus: no changed completely seen so far

Kirby: no changed completely seen so far

Fox: seems a little slower but the game just seems slower, his smash attacks seem poor without charging. 120% forward smash barely sent them anywhere

    PIkachu: yet to play

Marth: FLOATY, double FAIR is very easy to perform! his over B combos now keep the enemy within them, ie over B three times will finish everytime

Mr Game and Watch: yet to unlock

    Luigi: not played yet

    Diddy: not played

    Zelda: not played

Shiek: seems to be the same (fair is nerfed, knock-back sucks)

Pit: I'm planning on playing with him some... I love how the glide works and the up B recovery is INSANE! They implemented a new aerial system

Metaknight: similar to Pit, I love both of them

Falco: seems to have a new move set, didn't play with him yet. When I faught him to unlock he was throwing his reflector...

Pokemon Trainer: nice little guy, only played once very shortly

Ike: very slow but very powerful (reminds me of gannon) haven't played with him much

Snake: I personally do not like him, only played a couple times. The use of his grenades are poor and I don't like his rocket system, very vulnerable at close range...

Peach: onyl played once, seems to be same concept (not sure about stitched face turnips) they say she has her down smash nerfed?

    Yoshi: not played

    Ganondorf: not unlocked

    Ice climbers: not played

King DeDeDe: fun character, only messed around with once (the new bowser, kind of slow)

    Lucario: not played

Ness: not played, seems to be the same

    Sonic: not unlocked

Koopa (Bowser): He seems to be top tier material (if tournaments were going to be held) he seems a lot faster and has the same moves for the most part. A lot more effective this time around

    Wario: not played

    Toon Link: not unlocked

    Robot: not unlocked

Olimar: seems to be a wierd system with the Pikmin, I didn't get into it much... doesn't seem like my type. pluckign the pikmin is instant from the ground and they come back to you after you throw them. you can also get rid of them at will

    Captain Falcon: not unlocked

Purin (Jigglypuff): not unlocked (I WANT MY SLEEP!)

    Lucas: not played

Well, I hope I didn't waste your time too much. I'm excited for the American version. I'll just try to get my skills way up until then and figure out which of the characters I like the best and have the upper edge on my friends

I must be getting old, cause the title of this thread just baffles me and most of Bendstraw's post does too.

Basically... they have dumbed it down (from what I can tell) to a button smashing game. One V ones still take more skill but not as much as before. It might be just getting used to the new physic system.

Don't get me wrong, it's real fun. I've played it a lot more... I like it but so far I've only done versus.

Definitely a good get together game.
