I have had all these questions, but nobody to ask them to... These are the only reasons I haven't bought it yet, that and Tilesc2005 likes the idea of keeping our bikes inside, minus the fact they get in the way in our small house... lol

holds up in high winds when the bike is NOT in it
    - Ive always had my biek in it in high winds, but if you dont, just fold it down or fold the whole thing up and 0put it away.....

how thick is the shell(cover) itself? - Its just like what boat covers are made of. Very durable. A tree fell on half of it knocking my bike over and it didnt have one tear or scuff, just moved the aluminum frame over a bit. Tweaked it back a bit and it still locks down perfect.......

does the bike ever get even the slightest amount of moisture on it? - Ive actually got in it while its raining and wiped it down. Which is what is great about it.... If you get caught out in the rain, you just pull in and you dont have to wait for it to cool off...... Ive had the R1 in it for 4 years now and not a bit of surface rust has started. Of course theres your normal 8 year old bike wear and it will never be as good as a garage, but its great if thats all you have.

Your more than welcome to come and check it out if you ever want.......

I saw the one that Will has back when we helped with removing and installing his new roof. I was very impressed, so I bought one. Well I didn't get exactly the right one (I believe it was the cycle shelter). It did not have the base. It did work well but it was very large and didn't last more than a month before it started ripping. I was extremely disappointed. The customer service was crappy, it basically was a waste of money.

Now, for the record, the one I have was not the Cycle Shell like what Will is backing. I do want to get this one. It just is hard to part with another sizeable chunck of change.

    Will,
Do you think this would fit a stretched bike? My bike is about 8" over stock length

Should be fine I would think, because the tail is what it comes closest to when closing and you can see that there is plenty of room left for the rear tire........ ......... I can measure for sure if your serious about it. Just let me know.

Ive had this cover for about 5 years and its still in perfect shape. A couple times a year I wash it down and sometimes even get inside it to hose it off, but I cant believe how well its held up with virtually no maintenance.
Still the best mod Ive bought for the bike........
