    2008 CBR1000RR wont start

Last time I rode it was on a decent day in January. I went to ride it to work 2 days ago and it wouldnt start. Everything came on like it should, lights, dash, etc, but the bike would just crank and crank. One thing I noticed was when I turned the key, I didnt hear the normal sound of the fuel pump building pressure. My first thought was a bad pump.

I got another pump today and put it on but I get the same result, I still dont hear the pump and it wont start. I checked the fuses under the seat and all the fuses are fine. I swapped some of the relays around and still nothing. Any other ideas I should explore?

Check all your switches...kickstand switch. Handlebar kill switch. Clutch switch (if you have one).

What kind of battery voltage do you have?

I checked the handle bar switch and it was functioning as it should. Bike was in neutral so I don't think the clutch had anything to do with it but I tried starting it anyway with the clutch pulled in. How would I check the kickstand switch?

I charged the battery up. I can check voltage tomorrow. Im looking for recommendations on a good repair shop that won't break me if I can't figure this out.

If you don’t hear the fuel pump, I’d investigate that further. In my experience, the fuel pumps are ALWAYS noisy when the key is turned on.

Check for power at the fuel pump electrical connection. If no power is found there, check for power at the fuel pump relay socket.

I can check if I am getting voltage to the pump. I am reading that many different sensors can cause the ECM not to engage the fuel pump. I just have to figure out which isnt working correctly. Like I said, I already replaced the pump and it didnt help. It still doesn't prime when I turn the key on even though every thing else lights up as normal.

Has the bike been tipped over? Might be the “bank angle sensor”

Actually, I think that would stop it from cranking too.

I had and 2008 cbr1000rr. I'm pretty sure it was wierd and would still crank with the kill switch on.

When I flip the kill switch on the handle bar, I can hear the relay clicking. Any other way to check the switch?

Is the only fuses and relays under the seat by the battery?
