it always blows my mind how much i lie to myself at the end of the season about how itll be ok.... its only a couple, maybe three months n itll be time to get back out there. no big deal. ill be fine until then. i have other hobbies....

then how delightfully taken aback i am that all those things i told myself were bullshit; as soon as i crank the bike over and hear it roar to life. FINALLY!!! that piece of my existence has returned. its like i know what the problem is the first few weeks, then the issue trails off. good and bad times come and go... i forget and spend at least some of the time the rest of the winter trying to figure out just what the fuck is wrong. what isnt quite right? something seems to be missing and a part of my soul is crying out a slow death.

the root of those dark times becomes apparent the instant i start the machine, back it out of its den and hit the pavement after the long cold winter.

even if it was a slower ride today, dodging potholes, avoiding leftover sand and expecting gravel wash out after the rains, it was damn good to get out today. looking forward to another tomorrow.

I got out for just a little bit today. On the flats it was pretty bad with those wind gusts. I was getting tossed around pretty bad. But once I hit some of the local twisty roads the wind wasn't as bad. The bad thing about it, was the roads were pretty damp still in quite a few places, so I was gingerly riding, but it still felt good to get out and ride. I'll be knocking the cob webs off the more its warm.

I rode to work this morning at 4am and it felt amazing being out on two wheels. Can't wait to leave work later and ride around.

With you all the way. I got a couple rides in, took the Multi in to the shop, got very excited over little tweaks. Not riding hard or well, but who cares. Felt a moment or two of setting up for curves with a little bit of feel. Time for my body & mind to adjust, & get into it more.

Commonwealth rules, by the way. It's so bright in there, with many shiny objects.
