Just got the new Q3+ mounted to the FZ, excited to see how they do! Ride red got me pumped about them after a track day!

Successfully rebuilt my GSXR1000 Engine after the timing chain broke at the track. It took out 6 valves in the process. I realized the issue came from improper installation of the chain tensioner which had the chain way too tight.

After I reassembled everything, I got cold feet about starting it because I didn't have any way to prime the top end with oil. After fretting about it for several days, I dumped some oil in the top thinking that would be better than nothing and the oil would just drain back down into the bottom of the engine. What actually happened was the oil leaked into the cylinders. This was a pain in the ass to evacuate and I still didn't get it all.

Lit the engine for the first time over the weekend and other than copious amounts of smoke it sounded pretty healthy. For a short time.

The plugs got fouled after about 10 minutes of total run time and it started running really rough, so I replaced them with some old ones I had lying around and it's running nice again. Took it for a victory lap around my neighborhood.

My hope is to have it all sorted out for Barber on the 24th and 25th.

Limitations can only be learned by exceeding them.

I'm super pissed Ohlins didn't have a hydraulic preload adjuster on the shocks when I bought mine.
