BOMBSHELL: Nicky signs multi-year deal with Repsol Honda!!

OK, so I'm just kidding. But, many of you have probably seen that he is filling in for Pedrosa while he recovers from a broken vagin@....errr...collarbone. Honestly, I never thought the factory team would call Nicky back up, but I'm kinda excited to see it. I have no delusions of Nicky getting a podium or anything, especially since he's spent all year getting comfortable on his WSBK CBR1000.

BUT. Any predictions on how you guys think he might fair? Is a top 10 possible? Should be cool to see. Being a long-time fan of Nicky, I'm anxious to see how he'll fair on the new CBR SP next year too. He's been running pretty close to the front here as of late on a machine pretty universally-accepted as being the most outdated on the grid. Still some fuel left in the old boy's tank, I believe.

I don't see top ten, but I hope he does better than his last Honda wild card a few weeks ago

Without looking, I was thinking he lost the front and crashed out.
Regardless I hope he does better this time, but doubt he'll be top 10. Too much competition by riders with more on the line, and who are more up to speed with this years bikes and tyres.

He's had very little time on the new tires, which seem like they will bite a rider with very little provocation. Staying upright 'til the checker is probably a win.

I am a fan of his and it's easy to root for the hometown boy in a sport without anymore Americans left. He was a big crowd draw everywhere in the world and was great for the sport.

I followed Nicky from AMA to MotoGP. I had never watched a MotoGP race until he made the switch. I'm obviously a big fan, but asking a mortal to come to to grips with a new bike + new tires amongst the best riders in the world is a lot to ask. Being a diehard fan I'm still hoping for a top 10.

I have a big signed and framed picture of him winning the 06 world championship in my living room carrying the US flag. It's motivation for a boy from KY that anything is possible. I may or may not have bought a cbr1000 in 2006 to celebrate....

Nice! I was in Laguna for his first win. I remember feeling like I won the race that day. This is hanging in my garage
