Racing with MCRA at Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis

Here's my onboard vid from Sunday's GTA race! My first time at Gateway.

Saturday I finished 3rd out of 20 on a red flagged shortened race after a uncharacteristically great launch. Battled for 3rd the whole race and happened to be the one on top the lap before the red.

On Sunday, l started in the same grid spot, 3rd row middle right, 26 GTA bike field. Not as good of a launch. Swallowed by the pack in the insane hairiness of T1. Came out of T2 in 15th. Fought up to take 3rd with a couple laps to go at the end. I admit to riding at the edge of my ability pushing hard to fight through. As is evident by the rear tire protesting constantly, and several failed attempts to toss me off! Fun Fun Fun Fast group of riders!!

2nd vid is from Tim's extra camera mounted onboard the 5th place finisher Sun rear facing. He took 2nd on Sat, fast cool guy, we figured we'd be chasing him Sun, and we were right. I catch up around 17:30 and take two laps to find a way around. The rear view does a good job at capturing the intensity! Fun stuff!

For some reason it wouldn't let me embed the vids. Trying again.

Track looks crazy! Intimidating the way it switches over. I guess not too bad when you get used to it, but looks scary to me! LOL!

Looks cool. Thanks for the vids. Always wondered what the track was like. That wall about 6 feet off the track coming into turn one off the front stretch though...wouldn't be a good spot to come in too hot!

It's a fun track. But there are lots of walls. They put up airfence in the worst areas. But its still a mind game for sure!
