I can't decide what I'm going to do for my Midlife Crisis.
I already have a garage full of motorcycles, do a couple dozen track days and periodic races.
Possibly buy a sidecar racing motorcycle and find myself an 18 yr old female monkey?

    WELL IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!

Congrats Boog, she looks good on you! I think you'll find that bike to be a lot more comfortable than you'd think.. not FZ comfortable, but more than capable of a gap trip without to many complaints. I was pretty impressed with how comfortable my 03 was when I got it. I've found a throttle rocker really helps with the "buzzy bars" on longer rides with my carpal tunnel but that's hopefully getting ready to be a thing of the past.

BTW I just so happen to know the guy who has the track plastics that came off of that bike and I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to part with them if you wanted.

Great score Boog... Those things are damn fast and so much more nimble than what you've been riding for years. You're going to love throwing it into the crooked stuff!!

Congrats! R6 is the best bike you could possibly own. I might be a little biased.

I'm still around, but I haven't ridden in a few years. I have some repairs to do on the bike and I'll be back out this season.

I rode an R1 across the country and would never do it again.
A trip to the gap will be brutal for you being used to the FZ-1.

You might get there quicker though.
