Add a First Aid Kit to your bike

I thought I would post this since I have had to help quite a few fellow riders this summer. I have a 2007 ZX6R (yes the one with no storage space) but I still keep a first aid kit on the bike. I also added a Mini LED light and Leatherman Tool to the stock tool kit as well as a few zip ties. Here is the first aid kit:

OK so here is my seat cowl (I know...ironic the med kit is under it)

Here is the med kit. Most people will have a bit more room but I the new ZX6R is pretty skimpy on space:

    Contents:

The original kit is a Trek I by Copghlans. It was about $7.00 at Wal Mart but here it is for $6.11 online:

I have of course added a few things and here is what my kit has:

    6 Regular Band Aids
    6 Small Band Aids
    1 Cohesive Gauze 1"X10 Yds.
    4 Gauze Pads 3"X3"
    2 Butterfly Closures
    6 Fabric Bandages 1'X3"
    1 Knuckle Fabric Bandage
    2 Povidone-Iodine Pads
    3 Antiseptic Towelettes
    1 Needle
    1 Moleskin 2"X3"
    5 Mini Strips
1 Roll of Curad Adhesive Tape
    2 Latex Gloves
    1 Lighter
    1 small bottle of Visine
1 Very Sharp Case pocket knife
    2 Zip lock Baggies
4 Bayer aspirin (good for bee stings too)
Waterproof sheet of first aid instructions (in case someone has to use my first aid kit on me!!!!)

The most important thing is to remember to re stock it when someone needs a band aid because they got a hangnail.

The entire kit is 4.5 inches X 4 inches X 2 inches. Hope that helps.

Please accept my resignation. I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member. ~ Groucho Marx

    Great "How to" Post.

I'm one of the lucky ones. The SV has enough room for carnival midget. I keep my first aid kit in a zippered cloth bag with my registration and info.

Good idea to keep one of those handy. I don't think any of us carry a kit on rides, can come in real handy.

Who needs an emerg kit, when you have electric tape and tie wraps..... We've had to use those a few times.....
