The financial truth comes out once a month in the financial statements. A properly run business will have more money flowing in than flowing out. The government has had more flowing out than in for decades.

If I were king for a day, I'd start hacking at the bottom line by eliminating 75% of all entitlement programs first. Second, I'd reduce the pay for government officials (senators, congress, ect.) to making no more than $100k. Also, lifetime pension would be gone.

I think those three cuts would be enough to put this country in the black in less than 12 months.

We'd have to deal with all the rioting from people who have spent the last two generations learning to live completely off of entitlement programs, but once that fight is over, there should be an instant increase in taxpayers as the start to finally get jobs.

And do you know what's really funny... The Government says that if you don't make money in your business every 3 out of 5 years, then it's a "hobby" and not a business, and you should be classified as such. Yeah, think about that. How can the Government and IRS turn around and say I haven't made any money in my business therefore I can't take any deductions for such and now I am actually doing a hobby instead of a business and I can't take a loss, yet, they take a loss EVERY YEAR.

If the politicians can't balance the budget, they shouldn't be allowed to run for office again.

*Some federal employees refuse to fly coach, costing us $100+million a year in upgrades.
*DOD wasted $100 million on unused flight tickets when they were refundable.
*Washington will spend $2.6 million training Chinese prostitutes to drink more responsibly on the job.
