The financial truth comes out once a month in the financial statements. A properly run business will have more money flowing in than flowing out. The government has had more flowing out than in for decades.

If I were king for a day, I'd start hacking at the bottom line by eliminating 75% of all entitlement programs first. Second, I'd reduce the pay for government officials (senators, congress, ect.) to making no more than $100k. Also, lifetime pension would be gone.

I think those three cuts would be enough to put this country in the black in less than 12 months.

We'd have to deal with all the rioting from people who have spent the last two generations learning to live completely off of entitlement programs, but once that fight is over, there should be an instant increase in taxpayers as the start to finally get jobs.

I would end both wars completely.
Remove all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cut our foreign bases in half at least.
Cut off ALL foreign aid
That will save quite a bit

I think we ought to trade more, the government can't make extra money out of you if you don't spend! They tax you when you earn it, tax you when you spen it and that process goes on and on....I wonder how much money 1$ actually makes for the government...at 7% tax, if it changes hands 15 times and it's made more than $1
