Spartaness Ladies 2pc Suit Review (wife's suit)

    Background:
My wife has an athletic build - broad shoulders, long torso, and smaller hips. We tried off the rack suits from Dainese, AGV, and Alpinestars and none of them fit quite right. To get the top to fit correctly, the bottom would be too big. She has a tough time finding regular women's street gear that fits her right, much less a suit.

I saw Drummer Dave's post Xmas sale, saw positive reviews here and elsewhere, and given he is one the few reasonably priced custom shops that do women's gear I gave it a go. Bonus is the Spartaness looks good in "stock" colors, but you have the ability to customize colors. We opted for 2pc so she could use the jacket for track and street.

    First Impressions:
This is a great looking suit. The leather is soft and pliable out of the box. It does not appear to need much break in. Stitching and workmanship is great within this custom price point. I was a little concerned about the 2pc design for track duty, but the 2pc construction on this suit is very well done and looks sturdy. The zippers are large and easier to use than my Rev-it and Dainese suits with gloves on.

    Protection:
The default armor is adequate. It looks like it would pass the minimum CE, but I recommend the T-Pro "upgrade" for track duty. I'm opting for it after receiving the suit. Given it's my wife of 19 years I figured the extra $ is worth it for her to be protected.

    Fit and Comfort:
This is usually a deal breaker with other suits. Going with custom measurements got this suit right on...especially for the top portion. My wife remarked that the "jacket" is the most comfortable and sized appropriate jacket she has worn. She's looking forward to wearing the jacket off the track as well as on. Bottom portion needs a little break in on the bike, but out of the box fit works well.

    Nutshell:
For a custom sized suit Spartan hits the right marks - great "fitted" suits at a reasonable pricepoint.

    Nicely done.
The joy of success is increased by the struggle along the way.
