Wow. This thing is taking off.

I think loosing gateway for a season was a good thing.

Depends on what you want to do.
if you have a race license it's $50 to enter the sportsman's event. $75 for races with cash payout.

we are still working out the cost as we get them. but just to give you a idea it would be around 250 for both days. putnam has increased there track rental with all the new work they have done and adding garages that is manditory rental for clubs..

yea it was good and bad that gateway closed. we the board with the mcra have been pushing to expand for years. the elders of the club had a hard time with it because we are a non for profit and our bank roll isnt like a organization thats in it to make money. all we care about is breaking even and having enough for the next event.

last post was 1/18 so I thought I'd jump in. $135 for one day, $245 for both. Super cheap deal. I'm taking about 12 people with me. I'll make a separate post about the April Putnam event if there's not one already.

i'd be interested in the april track day. It would be my first ever. Does your group run a novice group? how many bikes per session do you put on the track?

    They run a novice group.

The advanced group is much faster than most given this is a racing association and a race license is required for that group but off hand I would say the novice and intermediate groups are in more than capable hands however over sold and crowded just the way I like it.

Here is my first MCRA weekend experience.

We have about 60 people signed up currently. There are usually about 20-30 per class. Bikes are sent onto the track in small groups so it's not like a motocross holeshot or anything.

You'll go through a Novice class to learn the ropes, you will have an instructor assigned to you to keep you safe. You'll be fine.

I'm bringing 6 first timers with me to this event, 1 of my veterans who just likes to play king of the novice, and a few more who will be in Intermediate.

You will have fun and you will learn a great deal about what your bike can do in a safe environment.

btw, this will be my first time ever coaching for MCRA...I hear many wonderful things about them...I'm stoked!
