Oh wow, I just had like 3 sentences that were pertinent to the thread. I must be coming down with something...
Putnam is slick in the wet, very little grip at all. I have done Barber in the wet, both with rain tires and DOTs, Putnam is closer to Mid-O in the wet. It's still able to be ridden, but personally, if it's wet, you won't see me on Putnam, yet I would still ride Barber in the wet.

IMHO, Putnam is worse than Mid-O in the rain...and not even comparable to Barber and Tally.

For Putnam, it really depends on how wet the track is.

If its pouring rain and there are puddles all over, Putnam is really really slick. The last time I rode it in the rain, turn 4 felt like ice even with full rain tires on.

As soon as it starts to dry up at all, the grip quickly comes back.

I found Mid-O slicker the two times I have attempted to ride in the rain there. It's also slick when the track is cold.

I agree with wortdog, it's much worse when it's actually raining than when it's wet or just sprinkling, where I find that Mid-O was slick even when damp.

Anyway, my suggestion, if it's raining, stay in the pits, if it's wet with no rain, get on the track, go slow, help the track dry out.

Moot point anyway, it won't rain on our day.

I'll apologize now because I know this is a serious thread, but I can't help myself-

Thanks for letting us know that Mr. Buck named his weenie Putnam and no, I've never done Barber or Tally in the rain. As a matter of fact I don't even know them.
