    Local mechanics

    Hey all,
So I'm pretty much the only one that works on my bike, but i do want to take it to a professional to have the suspension dialed in for my bodyweight and riding style and such. Any good local mechanics that could hook me up? I was going to call commonwealth when they opened, but I'd figure I'd make a post about it too.

agreed. the englishman will get you fixed up. its inexpensive but having him put the business to the suspension is some of the best money you can spend on your bike. when i first got my 954 i rode it few months before i found keith here on the forum. once he adjusted it was a night and day difference. highly recommended.

PM sent, hopefully it will help with all the downward pressure im applying on my wrist while riding. I have bad carpal tunnel and my right hand will go completely numb after about 10 min of riding. It happened on my CBR too just not as bad. Maybe I could get some riding tips also

Im doing stretches for it also...
Its driving me nuts though and making me want to get a more upright bike if I cant surpass it.

Are you using your core and leg muscles to keep you from resting on the clipons? If not, your wrists and elbow will really hurt.

More than likely you have poor riding position. Read twist of the wrist 2. Like Eric said, work your core and leg muscles more. You should not be apply much downward pressure on the bike with your arms. Push down on the pegs, squeeze with your thighs and knees. Flap your elbows like chicken wings, practice loose grip and push using counter steering. You should practice one quick flick steering input at an appropriate turn-in point and utilize the throttle not wrenching on the bars to get through the turn. It takes some, reading, some good coaching, training, trackdays and lots of seat time. This same thing used to happen when I first stated riding, I did 400 miles in 10.5 hours two days ago with no pain or numbness.
