LSB comes through again - this information is invaluable and no comments or opinions wasted. I'm going to shoot some PM's and see if I can get some experience throwing my leg over a VFR and a CBR this week. Thanks again guy and gals!

I'm suprised no one mentioned the electrical problems that occur with VFRs. My buddy's '07 is constantly blowing bulbs and now I'm pretty sure the stator went south. This is after 40k+ miles though. I think '06 and below have a TSB where Honda replaces the stator or wiring harness to fix it.
2004 Honda Interceptor (VFR800, Red, Michelin Pilot Road 2CT, KN filter)
2003 Acura RSX type-S (K20A2, White, KN filter)
2002 Honda Accord Coupe (F23A1, Blue, KN filter)
you can have the electrical issues on any of the bikes....the vfr's always get the rep for it though because a typical VFR owner puts on like 30,000 miles a year
I only mention it because it's his second VFR and both have had electrical issues. I remember him saying that the stator puts out too much causing the problems. Anyhow, I've rode his VFR and I liked it just not as much as my CBR.
It's not the stator. Adding an extra ground wire in the system and replacing the RR is the fix. They had a bad design on the regulator rectifiers where they didn't regulate the voltage well enough and would fry some stuff on some systems.
I had an 05 that I put 16k miles on with no issues. John has an 02 that hes probably got 30k on with no issues. Not every bike has the issue. He should look on vfrdiscussion.com on the subject. It's well discussed and documented fixes are easy to come by.

He's on there, that's basically the only bike forum he frequents. He hosted a VFR rally in Richmond a couple years ago.
Anyhow, I'm not dogging the bike just giving the OP a heads up. I'm sure he's buying a used bike so blown bulbs would be a dead give a away that the bike may have electrical issues.
I have a 2003 VFR with 37,000 miles and no electrical issues.
2003 Honda VFR......Staintune exhaust, PCIII , Helibars, Sargent seat, Penske rear shock, Traxxion front forks, Pazzo levers, Speedohealer and Ventura luggage for the occasional trip.
2007 Honda CBR 600 RR.......Carrozzeria wheels, Spiegler brake lines, R&G frame sliders, Puig screen, Pazzo levers.
