    Starting issue

I know it has been said many times by many people but I feel it is necessary.

I recenlty had issues with getting the Z750 started. I had initially worked off the premise that it was the starter clutch. It seemed very logical. After pulling the clutch and the associated gears I didn't see a whole lot of problems. I took these parts over to Dennis and he said pretty much the same thing, that the starter clutch looked fine.

He then suggested I reinstall these parts, crank engine to verify that motor is spinning. If the motor was turning over he suggested pulling the spark plugs and putting some oil down into the cylinders. He said sometimes they lose there seal thus causing a loss of compression.

I did just that. I had three of them done when I noticed oil coming out from around the exhaust header. When I finished I started grinding on it and soon enough it started right up. It smoked like a mother for a bit but she is running great. It also made me realize some of the other things that my bike was doing were indications that he piston/cylinder seal was weakening.

Anyway this long winded post was to say THANKS DENNIS! You are DA MAN!
