    Negative Gs

Two years in riding off and on with LSB and I find that the thing that slows me down the most isn't the corners but pulling negative Gs on a hill. I'm a big guy and coming off my bike and landing isn't pleasant at all (it makes me want my mama ). I've found that I can dampen it a little bit by extending my legs and coming down on the apex, but I figure there must be better techniques out there than that. If I can keep my ass in the seat, that would be best.

Besides practice and growing a pair, what do you all recommend to better deal with hills with steep pitches.

Only problems I have topping hills going fast is the front lifting. Not really a problem, per se.

I back off the throttle just before I peak the hill......it keeps the front end down for me.

Rear brake right before the top.

Read about people riding Laguna Seca. That little rise at the start line was tough on the MotoGP guys to figure out since the bike wanted to lift the front, or the whole bike. He said his trick was to apply a little rear brake just before the top to keep it planted.

A really good example of this is riding 337 in Indiana. The hills there can "launch" you and your bike. I have ridden the roads enough to learn which ones do it, and I back off on those hills, and roll on once over.

To keep your butt planted though, I squeeze with my knees... I am a big guy too, and I have almost launched myself over my bars because of the bike staying fairly planted but me not...

Best thing, slow down before the hill, otherwise get used to it and speed up, get both wheels off the ground... (really don't do this, jumping hills is dangerous )

Like Railing was implying.....it does take some getting used to when you launch the bike....but once you do get used to it.......it sure is a lot of fun. ...that's why I like 337

I don't like blind hills, even if I know the road, so I always slow down.

337 is the reason why I pee on myself.

This is one of those times I wish I didn't have linked brakes because I can't really drag the rear. I think I'll keep running 337 and figure out what works for me before my next I loop ride.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

For that road, the best thing to do is slow down a bit, not to mention the two blind intersections after coming over a hill. They can't see the bikes until they are there, and at the speeds that most of us hit it, you are through the intersection quicker than a car can turn in front of you (errr get our of your way...)
