    VFR800 exhaust options

I put my bike back together a week ago and I left the exhaust from the catalytic converter on back off. I'd like to get a short pipe or similar that empties to the side simliar to the new CBR1000s. Any recommendations? I'm tempted to get this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Uni...item27ac68f537

I may have to purchase one of those for the 1000. Just for when it's in it's track clothes. Be sweet for the track, but I think it will be to loud for the street.

Sound volume is a definite concern of mine. The bike is too loud for my tastes now. I would just prefer to have something shorter and lighter than stock. Maybe I can find a used 08+ CBR1000 exhaust somewhere.

You have a 6th gen right? You may need to look at the angle of the exhaust after the cat. I wanted to go the same route you're wanting to when I was looking at cans. I couldn't find anything that fit correctly because it was a little flaired out. I ended up just buying some stainless Scorpions. Look on Youtube for videos that pertain to 6th gen VFR's. I know Staintunes are popular with the V4 crowd. Look for Wolf, Devil, and Lazer Deep Tones, just to name a few.

I mean, you can have a custom mid pipe made to work. But believe me, it doesn't save any money. But you do need to drop the anchor stock cans off that VFR. They are so restrictive....and quiet. Let that V4 vtec sing my man!!

If sound is an issue you dont want that shorty....... +1 to Cynyc's post, maybe take one of those cans and cut it down pretty far.

Staintunes is the only thing you should be considering putting on that glorious V4. I know first hand.

Good info, thanks. I "smoke" tested bike with the exhaust off and when I heard that throaty growl, I had to leave it off. Bike pulls a lot harder now (especially with this cold air). I'd like to spend less than $100 overall, but that may not be realistic. I'll check the youtube videos out and let you know what I find.

v4bear will be at the S&S dyno night on the 8th. He has a 98 VFR with a Staintune. It kills!
