Red and Blue LEDs are legal, provided they don't flash. I called DOT and Indiana State Police and talked to them about it. You can have them, but they can't flash, and if they do, then you can be cited...
Just FYI, in Indiana if you have red or blue lights that are visible from the front of the vehicle, there had better be a police plate on the arse end of it, or you better have funeral escort papers, or you can be ticketed. HOWEVER, in Indiana a light is not considered a light unless it's illuminated, meaning if it's off, they can't say anything about it.

sorry, but I have been complimented by several New albany police officers on how the blue driving lights on the front of my bike make it more noticeable for vehicle drivers at night. and that it was a great idea to put them in the stock light housing!!! Railing is very much correct sir. no flash is cool, flashing is bad

I was stopped only once, and it was by a New Albany police officer. I was running red corner lights on the front of my R1, and he said it was illegal and that he would like me to change them. I specifically asked him the code number so I could look it up and confirm as I called the State Police, and asked a DOT officer. I was told as long as they do not flash, that it's not a violation. He said he didn't know the code and not to argue with him but to change them. I told him I would but I wanted him to confirm the code violation, as I found nothing ANYWHERE I looked or asked. I told him I wasn't arguing, I just wanted to have proof one way or another so that I could inform any of my friends. Needless to say he couldn't give me any proof whatsoever.

I no longer run red corner lights, as I like the white ones I have now, but I DID like the red corner lights. I wanted something less "noticeable" and make me more part of the crowd.

Like I said when we had this conversation on the ride today, I'm working based off of what the statues were 8 years ago when I was a Transit Officer. And no Railing, I don't remember the statute number :P It's possible the law has changed, who knows.
