    Safety wire? Tpro Chest protector?

    Cozye,

I'm trying to get a tally of the last few things I'd like to take care of for my track days this year.

First off... do you sell safety wire? I know it's not a necessity, but hell, it sounds like a fun project.

Second... Last year Mrs Cozye suggested a chest protector to compliment my Joe Rocket Speedmaster (Rebranded Tpro Forcefield) back protector, but I never got around to picking on up. I think I'd like one before heading out on the track. Do you like the Tpro chest piece?

    Thanks,
    Carlos

    Hi Carlos,
The tpro stuff is awesome. I wear my chest protector along with my forcefield back protector religiously at the track. It's so comfortable I don't even know it's there. I've got plenty in stock.

Safety wire, I don't carry it. I'd recommend skygeek.com, get the .032 stainless safety wire.

Harbor Freight has safety wire. God I hate that place.

Could always use some RTV if you don't feel like drilling and wiring. It's fast, cheap, and not possible to screw up.

I used it all last year, passed tech no problems.

True, but I didn't know if there was some secret price I'd get PM'd to me. :P

    I just bought it.

    But I have to ask...

How the @#$%^&*( do you put this thing on?

I know there are two sets of straps, the standalone ones, and the ones that are supposed to work with the chest protector. I got it "mounted" in the front, but it seems mighty floppy and loose. Do you just expect the leathers to hold it in place, or do I need to keep playing with the strap setup?

Both sets of straps work with the chest protector. Directions for wearing it can be found here http://www.johnsonleather.com/forcefield_chest.htm

If you choose to just use the one set of straps with the back protector, it will move around a little until you get your suit on. If your suit fits properly, should hold it in place just fine. I wear mine with just the side straps attached to the back protector, and it's never moved around on me while riding or racing.
