I figured out how to insert the pics but I can't find the little pencil to edit the image and make it bigger.

Hover your mouse over the "inline" image and you will see a little pencil show up on the image, clicking the pencil brings up the options to edit the image, including where you want it aligned, how large you want it, and options for titles, descriptions, etc.

you do this while still in the attachment window right?

Edit your post with the picture after posting and you should see it. It won't work in Google Chrome though.
