    Attaching Pictures (New Forum)

Today I was playing with attachments, and thought I would pass along some information on things you can do with them.

First and foremost, the file upload is different. You now have control of all the images you have uploaded and can re-attach an image which is really nice. In case you want to post an image you have already used, you don't have to waste space by reuploading.

So to attach and image to your post, click the paperclip icon in the "advanced edit" window, click on "Add Files" in the upper right corner, click "Select Files" at the bottom of that window, and then browse for your file. Once you have added the files you want (you can continue choosing files) click the "Upload files" button at the bottom of that window.

It will upload your files and you will see them as attachments in the bottom of the File Upload Manager. You have two options at this point, "Insert Attachement" or "Insert Inline".

If you put them as an attachment they will show up at the bottom of your post in a field that says "attachments" and be small. Instead choose "Insert Inline".

This will place them where you were typing in your post. Like this:

Brian and I playing video games.

At this point your image will be small, but inline with the words. It makes it not take up a ton of room in the post, but you now have the option to make it larger, or add some other options to it, where you didn't before.

Hover your mouse over the "inline" image and you will see a little pencil show up on the image, clicking the pencil brings up the options to edit the image, including where you want it aligned, how large you want it, and options for titles, descriptions, etc.

So the image above is it's "normal" attached size which is a thumbnail, but with a title, here is an image "large"

And at the bottom is an "attached image" not "inline".

    Hope this helps.

Keg I don't care if you didn't read it...

Just some help for everyone else if they want it. I saw some people complain about the small pics, this is something you can choose to do yourself to make bigger.

I will do screen shots of everything later, I think Brian and I need to tweak some colors on the file manager, you can't read file names.

    Cool.

I've gotten used to just uploading everything to Photobucket and grabbing the IMG code, but I may have to look into this. I've never attached images to a forum... how much space do we have?
