    Purchasing from online stores...

Well I have done a LOT of aftermarket purchases in the past few weeks, fixing up my bike. I wanted to report if anyone was interested in the speed of shipping and service of where I ordered.

    1. Ebay, we all know it, and everything I ordered actually arrived faster than the other places.

    2. http://www.solomotoparts.com - The first order was shipped the same day and arrived in 4 days from California. I liked this so much I ordered from again (my Galfer lines, and other brake parts), and got free shipping because of the order being over $75. I ordered on June 28, and they shipped it July 9. I am not a happy camper and they said it was because Galfer didn't send them the parts, even when the website said "in stock" (one of my BIG complaints from many stores, they say it's in stock, but they order it when you place your order). I would have ordered it elsewhere if I knew it would take this long to arrive, even if it would have been more. They have a big selection of parts, prices were very competitive with the other places, and they have been in contact with me about the delays, so CS was/is good. I would order from them again, but will call in my order to make sure everything is in stock.

    3. http://www.oneidasuzuki.com - Slow to ship because they were at some conference, but when they got back, it was shipped right away (tracking information on Tuesday, when they said they would be filling orders starting on Monday). The prices were good, and I never had to call them.

    4. http://www.traxxion.com - EXTREMELY nice and helpful. I called them about my shock and fork, and talked to them for about 30 mins. Discussed what I needed, my weight, riding style, etc. Discussed options, didn't put the hard sell on me, and go everything built and shipped that day (called at 10 AM when they opened and had a tracking number after lunch). Great to deal with...

    5. http://www.kneedraggers.com - although I ended up cancelling my order, they only had one of my items in stock out of 8 things I ordered, even when the website said they were in stock. So they lost out on all my money....

    6. http://www.targa-acc.com/ - bought the plastic solo seat cover in matching color, backordered for 4 weeks, said ok, then checked after 2.5 weeks, and they said no ETA on arrival, so I opted for an unpainted one and will either paint match, or just paint my whole bike this winter to a custom color/scheme. Also ordered some other stuff (cargo net, $1.99), some flush mount lights (a few dollars cheaper than elsewhere), everything has arrived super fast, and CS has been great with plenty of communication.

    7. http://suburban-machinery.com/ - although expensive, my Type 2 bar is great, and the perfect position I want to be in, not too aggressive, but still more aggressive than the stock position.

    8. http://www.flyncycle.com - shipped fast and everything was great, no complaints from them.

    9. http://www.cyclegear.com - slow as crap to ship. I went to the store and they didn't have what I needed, so I odered it from their site hoping it would arrive quick. Took 10 days to ship and another 4 to arrive. I won't be buying from them online, but only in the store if I REALLY need something that day, otherwise it's cheaper to order online.

    10. http://www.indysuperbikes.com - very nice to work with, called in one order, ordered the other online. Prices were reasonable, and it arrived over night since it came from Indianapolis. If you need something quick and they have it, they will ship the same day if you order in the morning, and you can have it the next day. I haven't been to their shop in Indy, but am planning on my next trip up. They were very helpful on the phone.

    11. Commonwealth Motorcycle - originally was going to buy my bike from them, and will be buying my next one from them (probably a Ducati Monster, they are dead sexy...). Super nice people, and I ended up buying from lid, jacket, and gloves there. Also helps one of the guys there is "semi" related to me.

Can't think of any others, but I ordered at least something from these places. I shopped for the best price, and saved a bundle over buying local, even though I really would like to support the local shops, but saving at least 10% on everything saved me quite a bit of money.

Just thought I would share, and feel free to share information from places you have ordered online. I know the site is sponsered here by McCoy Motorsports and I will try to buy from them in the future (do we get anything off?), but I didn't know about that until after I ordered most of my stuff...

I've only ordered from kneedraggers once and it will be the last time aswell. They don't stock anything so they have to get it first and then ship it out to you. BS

I have been stopping in Commonwealth for a few years. Ed and Steve are nice to talk to . I feel guilty not buying much from them. I also think Ducatis are damn sexy. Just for their looks. They say Tom Cruise bought a Duc from them. I used to run into a guy that had a 999, however he said his previous GSX 1000 was much quicker .. ?

I felt guilty not buying from them too, since I spent about 5 hours in there on three different days talking/looking at bikes, but they were the ones to recommend the used SV that I bought from a friend of theirs, and it was too good a deal to pass up for a 2000 SV650 with 5115 miles on it.

I will buy my next bike from them, if I buy new, or if they have a used one I am looking for...

I am glad I didn't wait longer, as I was still able to cancel, although they tried to keep me from cancelling. Their prices were good, but I didn't want to wait 2 weeks to get my stuff.

I buy most of my goodies off ebay. It seems that dealing with a single person instead of a "company," works best for me. The only place I have really had VERY BAD issues with is 58 cycle.....
Sorry but these sob's still get me pissed off over some
Heres the thread if you want.......

If they are anything like the company I work for, then they have some good salesfolk and some bad salesfolk. The key point is working with one of the good ones.

As for my own company, we have 2 online/phone sales reps that I would love doing business with 365 days/year. However, we have 2 online/sales reps that I would not touch with a 10 foot pole. Thus, I recommend finding a specific sales rep at any place you do business with and specifically ask for them anytime you place an order.

Believe me, there are some good companies that get a bad name from a single d*ick, but if one knew the right person to contact, then everything would have been great!

That is just a theory...your miles may vary. ')

EDIT: Sorry if my reason for the quote was not clear.
