    Dropping Live Account

I checked my bank account this morning and noticed that MS has charged me two days early AGAIN.

I live paycheck to paycheck while trying to dig my finances out of this "hole" I'm in. My account is set to renew every 14th (or the next business day) but after today I noticed this, which will overdraw me because I plan everything to the day. SO I looked back and noticed that twice this past year Microsoft has done this (luckily it hadn't burned me) for NO reason. The new payment dates were in the middle of work weeks

So I logged in to me account through xboxlive.com and saw that in December I'm set to renew on the 9th! WTH!?!?! Are they slowly trying to nickel and dime an extra month out of their subscribers by moving the pay date closer and closer?!?

So now I have to rush to the bank this morning and deposit a hand-full coin-rolls

End of story: I rarely play xbox anymore. I tried Dragon's age and it's too boring so I made the decision to cancel my gold membership. If anything I play it to watch movies and I don't need live to do that. I was nuts to think that getting in league with MS was EVER a good idea.

Maybe they saw my running Linux over the network and took offence

That sucks. I wonder if this month had something to do with Wednesday being a bank holiday?

I chose to get a PS3 based on 2 factors.
    1. It is free to play online. There is no $50/year subscription.
    2. They used the winning format...BluRay.

Yes it is $100 more expensive up front and the games may be a bit higher, but once you buy something from them there are no additional fees.

I also like the fact that you can upgrade your hard drive in the PS3 without voiding the warranty. You can also install and run Ubuntu on your PS3 and not void your warranty. They have instructions for both.

Good luck getting out of debt. My wife and I are currently riding the debt snowball (Dave Ramsey concept) and it really works fast.

6 months ago we had 17,000 of debt excluding our home and my student loans. Included in that debt was our Envoy, my Motorcycle, a TV, and some medical bills.

Currently, we've snowballed until the motorcycle and tv payment are gone and our total debt is now around $6,000 with only $3,000 on the truck and about $3,000 in medical bills. I did call the hospital and negotiate 40% off the medical bills so that knocked about $2,000 off the top without me spending a dime.

I was extremely skeptical when we started, but with minor changes in spending habits, it really does work!

I've been leaning towards the PS3 for a while. I was a hardcore Sony supporter up until the 360 came out.

Update: Just got back from the bank. Literally didn't make it in time (had to be by 10 minutes). Those MFer's F'n around just cost me $25! . They've lost my business forever!

I just put it on Craigslist for $200. The guy's step-son just recently got a refurb.

    Specs:
    20G HD
    2 wireless controllers
    Chatpad
    Headset
    Intercooler

    Games:
    -Rainbow Six Vegas 2
    -Fable 2
-Dragon's Age: Origins (just came out)

Will be putting it in Classifieds section too as soon as the claigslist ad posts.
