    New 250GB PS3

These game systems are getting about as stupid as computers (in the sense that when you buy one....its outdated in a metter of months)

    New slim style 120GB PS3 -- $299.99
    Latest slim style 250 GB PS3 (available Nov.3) --$349.99

    Geeeee......what a no brainer

    250GB System Article

This is the area where Sony is totally screwing their customers. Instead of creating new systems.....they need to create a damn update to allow the PS3 to play PS2 games

My 60G? $600 PS3 plays PS2 games just fine. I'll swap you a new 250G one for mine, which supposedly has extra hardware in it that made them more expensive initially.

I heard that the first PS3 would play the PS2 then Sony took that capabilithy away because it was expensive. I think I have the 80 GB and I don't think I've used much of it at all.

The physical size of the hard drive means nothing. You can simply swap it out with a bigger drive.

I don't even know what I'd use all that memory for on my PS3. Of course I very rarely play games, it's mostly a BluRay player for me. My PS3 plays old PS2 games though.

A suggestion on the computer though, throw away the subpar PC and buy a Mac.

That was what I read as well. They were losing something to the tune of $85 per system in the beginning.

True, but I think it is being used as a reference since that was how they were originally sold. When I bought mine, there were two sizes available. The one with the smaller hard drive could not play PS2 games and the larger one could.

I haven't had a gaming system in nearly 5 years. Last game I remember buying was GT3 on PS2. I think Tammy and I are going to buy ourselves a Wii this x-mas to help pass the time.

Thats my point....if they made it possible early on, why did they stop it? If there were some problems with the capability, surely they could have worked them out by now.

Then in saying that......swapping in a bigger drive means nothing

I was more or less saying for the $50 difference in price, you are better off getting the 250GB version if you intend to make use of it

I thought that would work, but Amanda and I got one and it gets old fast....... We played it for about a week....... Its fun playing 2 player games with your boys (so you have some competition) , but I never play otherwise.
