Tips from around the Ville....

Theres a wide range of riders that are now members of the site and I hope everyone can take in something..... I always like to learn new tips that keep you just a little safer out there on the road. Just wanted to put a list together on what kind of helpful tips you guys have learned throughout your riding days.

Heres a couple that have helped keep me safe over the years......

*Early in the morning or late at night, when exiting on an off ramp, watch out for the big painted arrows. These can get dew, oil, or any moisture on them. Makes them feel like ice.

*When driving through an intersection, glance over at the pedestrian walk signs. The signs for the road your crossing will flash just before the light turns yellow. This just gives you an idea of how soon you have to stop for the light. Keeps from slamming the brakes and getting hit from behind......

+ Tar/Patches in cooler weather. I know this from experience :P

*Keep it straight while crossing RR Tracks in the rail. Remember that you're riding over wet metal.

do not split lanes when riding on interstate.

try to look through the windshield of the car in front of you so you can see in front of him.

when you see a deer. their is probobly more to soon follow.

dont ride over your limits, their is nothing to prove to the guy riding next to you.

NEVER pee into the wind! (that was a bad day!)

Don't use the middle of the lane...that is where all the car junk is ie coolant oil etc
Don't pass on the right. People just don't see ya'.
Don't ride mad. Keep your head clear.
Walk around the bike everytime you take it out.
Don't ride behind Kick. It's just dangerous.

*Don't ever let your adrenaline addiction overwhelm your common sense. If you don't think you can do something then don't try.

*If you ignore the previous tip then remember: It's better to lowside than to highside.

Ooo ooo I forgot this one....
The throttle will get you out of trouble 90% of the time and end the suspense the other 10%!

These are some great tips....
To add to crossing railroad tracks, always hit them at no less than a 45deg angle. The tracks can take the front out otherwise.

1)If you can't get in the groove or can't focus on the ride......just turn around and go home. Don't force it.

2) Listen to that little voice.
3) Deer are bad M-kay.
4) It's not a race.
5) Leave lot's of space between you and the vehicle in front of you. If you think you're far enough back....drop back further.
6) Check your tire pressure every time you ride at the beginning of the ride.
7) Don't draft behind semi's.....either stay way back or pass quickly.....ever seen one of their tires explode? It happens more often than you may think.

If the road curves to the left, position your bike in the right hand side of the lane to avoid leaning over the center and to avoid the possibilty of the car turning wide into your path.
