next time you go out 42 east, turn left on to 524 to Westport. down the hill about 8 miles to Westport, follow 524 thru town, turn left and follow about 10 - 15 miles to 1888, turn left on 1888 and follow about 15 miles back to 42, you guys will love it. nice pavement - no traffic - great curves.
Or you can follow 524 back to 42, either way nice side trip

will check it out, I have been down 524 to westport, but I turned right, and it sucked. will try turning left next time and check it out next time I am looking for a quick fix

Yes, take it down to the river - turn right - it'll come back to 42 or about 1/2 way you can turh left on 1888 and it will come back to 42
